Understanding the Metrics

Total Revenue

Sum of all paid invoices for the selected date range. Higher = more valuable client financially.

Pending Revenue

Unpaid invoice amounts. High pending + low paid = collection issue.

Reliability Score

Percentage of invoices paid on or before the due date.

  • 100% = Always pays on time
  • 80% = Usually pays on time
  • < 60% = Frequently late

Avg Payment Days

Average time from invoice issue to payment.

  • < 15 days = Fast payer
  • 15-30 days = Normal
  • > 30 days = Slow payer

Strategic questions

Who are your best clients? Sort by revenue. Top 5 drive most of your business.

Who pays fastest? Sort by reliability or check Avg Payment Days column.

Where's revenue concentrated? Look at the treemap. If 2-3 clients dominate, you have concentration risk.

Revenue Concentration

Check your portfolio balance:

PatternRisk Level
Top client < 15% of revenueDiversified
Top client 15-25% of revenueModerate concentration
Top client > 25% of revenueHigh concentration
Top 3 clients > 50% of revenueVery high risk

High concentration = vulnerability if a top client leaves.

Practical Applications

Top clients by revenue and reliability deserve more attention.

Address payment issues

Clients with low reliability scores or high avg payment days may need:

  • Stricter payment terms
  • Earlier reminders
  • Direct conversation about payment schedule

Identify growth opportunities

Clients with high revenue but few projects may have room for expansion.
