Quickstart
Get started with GitScrum Studio in 5 minutes. Set up your workspace, create projects, and start managing client work with Kanban, Sprints, and Time Tracking.
Set up your agency workflow in 5 minutes. Create a workspace, start your first project, and begin tracking billable hours.
1. Create Your Account
Go to studio.gitscrum.com:
- Click Continue with Google or Continue with GitHub
- Complete the 2-step onboarding:
- Step 1: Set your username, timezone, and workspace name - Step 2: Configure your work schedule (optional)
Your workspace URL will be: studio.gitscrum.com/your-agency-name
2. Create Your First Project
From the workspace dashboard:
- Click New Project (top right)
- Enter project name and optional description
- Set visibility: Private or Public
- Click Create
GitScrum creates a Kanban board with default columns: Backlog → To Do → In Progress → Done
3. Invite Your Team
Navigate to Team Members in the sidebar:
- Click Add Member
- Enter email addresses
- Assign roles:

| Owner | Full admin access |
| Manager | Create projects, manage team |
| Developer | Manage tasks, track time |
| Client | View-only access via ClientFlow |
Team members receive an email invitation with direct access.
4. Work with the Kanban Board
Open any project to access the board:
Create Tasks
- Click + at the top of any column
- Enter title, press Enter
- Drag tasks between columns as work progresses
Task Details
Click any task card to open the detail panel:
- Assignee — Who's responsible
- Labels — Categorize by type or priority
- Time Estimate — Set expected hours
- Due Date — Track deadlines
- Checklist — Break down into subtasks

5. Track Time
Log billable hours directly on tasks:
Timer Method
- Open a task
- Click the Play button
- Work on the task
- Click Stop when done
Manual Entry
- Open task → Log Time
- Enter hours, minutes, and description
- Mark as Billable if applicable
- Save
Access Time Tracking in the sidebar for:
- Analytics — Total hours, daily averages, team productivity
- Reports — Export timesheet data by project, user, or date range
- Budget Overview — Track hours vs. estimates
6. Run Sprints (Optional)
For time-boxed iterations:
- Navigate to Sprints in the project sidebar
- Click Create Sprint
- Set title, start date, and end date
- Assign tasks from the backlog
Monitor progress with:
- Burndown Chart — Track remaining work
- Sprint Health — Velocity and scope changes
- Sprint KPIs — Completion rate metrics
7. For Agency Owners: ClientFlow
Manage clients and billing under ClientFlow in the sidebar:
Add Clients
- Click New Client
- Enter name, email, and address
- Assign projects to clients
Create Invoices
- Open a client → New Invoice
- Add line items (or import from tracked hours)
- Set due date and payment terms
- Send directly or export PDF
Send Proposals
- Client detail → New Proposal
- Add project scope and pricing
- Track status: Draft → Sent → Viewed → Approved
Track Payments
- Pipeline view — See proposals, invoices, and change requests
- Paid vs Pending — Real-time revenue metrics
- Overdue alerts — Never miss a payment
