Manage your subscription, payment methods, and billing history. GitScrum billing is seat-based, meaning you pay per team member with access to your workspace.
Understanding Plans
GitScrum offers two tiers designed for different team sizes and needs.
Free Plan
The free tier includes:
- Limited seats for small teams
- Core project management features
- Basic reporting
- Community support
Free plan is ideal for individual developers, small teams evaluating GitScrum, or open-source projects with minimal collaboration needs.
Pro Plan
Pro unlocks the full GitScrum experience:
- Unlimited seats for growing teams
- Advanced analytics and custom reports
- Priority support with faster response times
- Client portal for external stakeholder access
- GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket integrations
- Custom work schedules per project
- Budget tracking with alerts
- Webhooks and API access
Pro is billed per seat, with options for monthly or annual billing. Annual billing includes a discount compared to monthly payments.

The billing page displays your current subscription status prominently at the top.
Free Plan View
When on the free plan, you'll see:

Seats Management
Seats represent the number of team members who can access your workspace. This section is only visible on Pro plans.
Usage Overview
A visual progress bar shows seat utilization:

Adjusting Seats
Modify seat count using the stepper control:
- Navigate to Billing
- Locate Seats Management section
- Use minus/plus buttons or type directly
- Preview shows pricing impact
- Confirm to apply changes
Adding Seats
When increasing seats:
- Prorated charge today: Immediate charge for remaining period
- New period total: What your next invoice will be

When decreasing seats:
- Changes apply at next billing cycle
- Current period remains unchanged
- Warning displays days until reduction takes effect

If your subscription is cancelled but still active:
- Seat adjustments are disabled
- Message explains seats cannot be modified until reactivation
- Current seat count remains until subscription ends
Payment Method
Manage the card used for subscription payments.
Viewing Payment Method
Displays your current card:

Managing Payment Method
Click Manage to open Stripe's billing portal where you can:
- Update card details
- Add new payment method
- Set default payment method
- View payment history
Adding Payment Method
If no card is on file:
- Click "Add payment method"
- Redirect to Stripe's secure portal
- Enter card details
- Return to GitScrum automatically
All payment processing is handled by Stripe. GitScrum never stores your full card number.
Billing History
Complete record of all invoices generated for your subscription.
Invoice List
Each invoice shows:

Invoice Statuses

Pagination
For accounts with many invoices:
- Page through results (10 per page)
- Navigation shows current page and total
- Prev and Next buttons for navigation

New accounts see:
No invoices yet
Invoices will appear here after your first paymentUpgrading to Pro
Convert from free to Pro plan.
Upgrade Flow
- Click "Upgrade to Pro" button
- Select billing cycle (monthly or annual)
- Choose initial seat count
- Enter payment information
- Confirm to activate Pro immediately
During Upgrade
You'll specify:
- Billing cycle: Monthly vs annual (annual saves ~17%)
- Seat count: How many team members need access
- Payment method: Card details via Stripe
- Billing information: Company name, address, tax ID (optional)

Cancelling Subscription
End your Pro subscription and return to the free plan.
Before Cancelling
Understand what happens:
- Access continues until current period ends
- No prorated refund for unused days
- Downgrade automatic at period end
- Data preserved but feature access limited
Cancellation Flow
- Scroll to Danger Zone section (red border)
- Click "Cancel plan" button
- Review what you'll lose access to:
- Additional team seats
- Advanced analytics
- Priority support
- Client portal
- Pro integrations
- Confirm cancellation
- Notice displays with end date
After Cancellation
The page shows:
⚠ Subscription cancelled
Your subscription has been cancelled.
Access continues until December 31, 2024.
After this date, your workspace will be downgraded to the free plan.Reactivating
Cancelled subscriptions can be reactivated before the period ends:
- Visit Billing page
- Click Reactivate button (if available)
- Subscription continues without interruption
Understanding Pricing
Per-Seat Model
GitScrum charges per workspace member who needs access:
Monthly: $15/seat/month
Annual: $12/seat/month (billed yearly)Proration
When changing seats mid-cycle:
Adding seats:
- Charged immediately for remaining days in current period
- Formula: (Days remaining / Days in period) × Price per seat × New seats
Removing seats:
- No refund for current period
- Reduction applies at next billing date

Scenario: 10-day billing period, $15/seat/month, adding 2 seats with 5 days remaining

What happens to my data if I downgrade?
All data is preserved. You may lose access to certain features (like advanced reports) but can view historical data. If seat count exceeds free tier limit, you'll need to reduce workspace members.
Can I change from monthly to annual billing?
Yes, contact support or manage through Stripe billing portal. Switching to annual applies a prorated credit for your remaining monthly period.
Are invoices available for accounting?
Yes, all invoices include:
- Itemized charges
- Tax information (if VAT provided)
- Company details
- PDF download for records
What payment methods are accepted?
GitScrum accepts:
- Visa
- Mastercard
- American Express
- Discover
- Most major international cards
All payments processed securely by Stripe.
How do I update billing email?
Billing email is managed through Stripe portal:
- Click Manage on payment method
- Update email in Stripe interface
- Future invoices sent to new address
