Quick Search

Quick Search is the fastest way to navigate GitScrum Studio. Press Cmd+K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows) from anywhere to open the search panel and find tasks, projects, team members, or jump to any feature.

The Problem This Solves

Clicking through menus is slow. Scrolling through long task lists is tedious. Quick Search eliminates navigation friction by letting you type what you're looking for and jump directly there.

Think of it as your IDE's command palette, but for project management.

Search Tips

Be Specific

❌ fix
✅ login fix redirect

More words narrow results faster.

Use Numbers

Task numbers are fastest:

#892

Instant navigation to specific tasks.

Command Shortcuts

Learn the command names:

/timer - Start time tracking
/sprint - View current sprint
/create - Create new item

Fuzzy Matching

You don't need exact spelling:

kanbn

Still finds "Kanban" board.

Pro Tips

  • Recent first: Open Quick Search and press Enter to revisit your last viewed item
  • Project scope: When inside a project, search prioritizes that project's items
  • Assignee shortcut: @me shows items assigned to you
  • Unassigned: @none finds unassigned tasks
  • This week: due:week finds items due this week

Performance

Quick Search is designed for speed:

  • Results appear as you type
  • Debounced to avoid excessive requests
  • Cached recent items for instant access
  • Server-side search for accuracy

For very large workspaces (10,000+ tasks), use filters to narrow scope.

Accessibility

Quick Search is fully keyboard accessible:

  • Screen reader announces results
  • Focus management follows ARIA patterns
  • Escape reliably closes the panel
  • Results are navigable via arrow keys
